Youths need training to boost confidence level

RAJSHAHI: Speakers at a daylong training workshop here yesterday observed that the youths both male and female need time-fittingleadership training for enhancing their level of confidence besides mental strength, reports BSS. Thereby, the trained youths could contribute a lot towards ensuring equitable, inclusive and sustainable development in an effort to playing effective role as social watchdog everywhere in the society, they unanimously opined.
The observations came in the inaugural session of the workshop titled "Training on Social Action Project" held in Cockeye Jar Hall room in the city. More than 72-youth, above half of them are female, from Bakshimoil, Jahanabad and Mougachhi Unions under Mohanpur Upazila of the district, attended the life-skill development training. The Hunger Project Bangladesh organised the programme in association with "Promoting Democratic Inclusion and Governance through Youth (PRODIGY)" project and British Council.
PRODIGY Field Coordinator (Monitoring and Operation) Subrata Kumar Paul and Programme Officers Jewel Rana, Masum Russel and Ishrafil Hossain spoke on the occasion. The meeting said enriching youths' leadership along with their capacity building is the precondition to generate job opportunities, social development and free the society from gender discriminations and vicious cycle of poverty. Subrata Paul says the 21-month pilot scheme is giving more importance on financial management, citizenship, governance and local governance and good governance sector. Sharing their respective working experience with the programme Kulsum and Mamun Al Mahmud of Jahanabad, Shabana Khatun and Md Hasanuzzaman of Mougachhi and Ismat Ara and Mahfuzul Haque of Bakshimoil told the workshop that they have got a new platform of doing something better for the society.
