RANGAMATI: Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu yesterday urged the government and the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) to implement the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) peace accord by settling the disputes through discussion, reports BSS. “New generation wants ensuring of development and peace . . . there is no alternative to talks to resolve the existing problems in the hilly regions,” he said while addressing a discussion on “Development of Chittagong Hill Tracts: Problems and Possibilities” on the occasion of the 40th founding anniversary of Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board (CHTDB) in the auditorium of CHTDB. Terming the CHT problems as a national issue, he underscored the need for framing of a separate law and formation of a national commission for the ethnic monitories for execution of the CHT peace accord.
