Bangladesh may gamble with the three uncapped players even though they want to start the New Year with a victory. All of the three rookie players- Abu Haider Rony, Nurul Hasan Sohan and Shuvagata Hom thereby could find their place simultaneously in the first T20 against Zimbabwe.
The 19-year-old left-arm pacer Abu Hider Rony, enforced his case thanks to his sensational run in the BPL that ran in November and December.
Bowling for the Comilla Victorians, who won the third BPL championship, Haider nearly led the league with an impressive 21 wickets, just one behind Kevon Cooper.
“I don’t want to disclose what my plan is but you will see it if I really can make my debut,” Haider said.
The 22-year-old wicketkeeper and right hand batsman Nurul Hassan was apparently based mainly on his performance in domestic first-class matches, rather than win T20 after he turned in a rather mediocre run in the latest BPL. Nurul is expected to slot into the No 7 spot in the Bangladesh T20 order, a position with which national selectors have not been satisfied for some time.
“There is no sense of excitement actually,” Nurul said. “But I will be happy if I make my debut in Khulna, which is my home town.”
Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury made ODI and Test debut earlier but his ability to make quick runs and taking wickets in crucial time opened the gate for him in Bangladesh’s T20 squad.
“I have chosen as an all-rounder so I’ll try to perform in both departments. I know there is alternative of the performance. I am looking forward my chance.”
