Ijtema 2nd phase begins today

The second phase of Biswa Ijtema begins today on the bank of the River Turag at Tongi in Gazipur. The three-day religious congregation will end on Sunday with Akheri Munajat. Devotees from 15 districts of the country will take part in the second phase of Ijtema. Thousands of devotees have already reached the Ijtema ground from different parts of the country. Additional law enforcers have been deployed to ensure security for devotees so that they can take part in Ijtema safely. Special security measures will remain in place at the Ijtema venue and surrounding areas until the programme concludes, said Superintendent of Gazipur Police Harun Or Rashid.
