Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Haque yesterday warned that stern action will be taken if any member of the police is found involved in torturing Bangladesh Bank Assistant Director Golam Rabbi, reports UNB. “If the allegation of torturing bank official Rabbi is found true, tough action will be taken against the offender/s,” he told reporters after a meeting of community policing at ATM ground in Naogaon town. Meanwhile, Bangladesh Society for the Enforcement of Human Rights, expressed deep concern over the torture and blackmailing of Rabbi. “Such illegal acts, by some police, will offer negative message about the police force in the country,” BSEHR Chairman Advocate Sigma Huda said in a statement.
