Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police yesterday said suspected operative of banned outfit Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) Hiron was directly involved in police killings of Gabtoli and Ashulia. Briefing reporters at DMP media centre, Joint Commissioner (DB) Monirul Islam made the revelation yesterday, reports UNB. Hiron was killed along with another suspected militant leader Noman in a gunfight with detectives in the city’s Hazaribagh early today. He was the Dhaka divisional commander of the banned militant group and was blamed for several attacks on minority groups including Shia and Ahmadiyas. Monirul said Hiron was directly involved in grenade attack on Shia Ashura procession at Hussaini Dalan in Old Dhaka as well as ASI Ibrahim killing of Gabtoli bus terminal last year.
