Electricity subscribers of the capital will get improved services like developed European and Asian countries within the next five years, said the managing director of Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC).
DPDC is planning to take special measures so that even during any maintenance work, subscribers will be able to get uninterrupted electricity, Brig Gen Nazrul Hasan (Retd), MD of DPDC, said while speaking at a public hearing on consumer services and new electricity connections at the city’s Motijheel area on Tuesday, a press statement said.
“I hope there will be no complaint regarding the meter reading. We are planning to incorporate in all of our Network Operation and Customer Services (NOCS) the provision for taking meter reading through mobile camera which will be integrated with a mobile app. It is expected that 100 per cent transparency will be ensured in that way,” he said. Nazrul Hasan heard of complaints from the subscribers.
Around 40 DPDC customers from Banasree, Banglabazar, Basabo, Bangshal, Narinda and Shwamibagh participated the public hearing, also attended by top officials of the Network Operation and Customer Services (NOCS) including Ramiz Uddin Sarker, executive director (engineering), ATM Harun-or-Rashid, executive director (operation), Gulam Mustafa, executive director (finance) of DPDC.
