Barisal drama festival begins today

A week-long drama festival marking the 25th founding anniversary of Shabdaboli Studio Theater will begin from today.
Nasiruddin Yusuf, Bangladesh chapter president of International Theater Institute, likely to inaugurate the festival. Sahanara Begum, chairman of the festival committee will, preside over the inaugural ceremony at Barisal Ashwini Kumar Hall.
Among others Prof. Ziaul Haque, chairman, Barisal Education Board, Advocate Talukdar Md, Yunus, AL lawmaker, will also attend the inaugural ceremony.
Eight theatre groups from Dhaka, Jessore, Barisal and three from Kolkata, Bihar of India will stage their 14 shows at Shabdaboli Studio Theater and Ashwini Kumar Hall at 5:30 pm and 7:15 pm everyday from January 16 to 22 in the festival.
