RAJSHAHI: A 14-day training exercise of Mohasthan Regiment of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) began at the playground of Bangladesh Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) in Rajshahi city on Wednesday, reports BSS.
A total of 503 cadets of senior, junior and women divisions from 91 educational institutions in Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions are taking part in the training.
Besides, some army officers, territorial force officers, professor under officers and teacher are participating at the course.
Main thrust of the training is to enhance moral and mental strength of the cadets along with equipping them with discipline and leadership characteristics.
BCSIR Director Dr Monsur Rahman, who inaugurated the course as the chief guest, urged the cadets to involve themselves in the nation building activities in a disciplined manner by making the good use of the knowledge they gained during the training.
Besides, he said the BNCC members could play a pivotal role in protecting the country's independence and sovereignty. He said the training would help the BNCC members build a disciplined lifestyle both in working and academic life.
