Five gold bars seized at airport

Members of Airport Armed Police (AAP) yesterday seized five gold bars weighting 600 grams from the car parking area of Hazrat Shahjalal International airport in the capital. They also arrested two people in this connection. The arrested were identified as Md Firoz, 38, and Md Nazif,32. ASP Tanjina Akhter of AAP said the law enforcers challenged the duo for their suspicious movement in the car parking of canopy-2 at about 4:30 pm. After searching their bodies, the AAP members recovered the gold bars worth Tk 24 lakh, she said. A case was filed and they arrested were handed over to the airport police station.
