Speakers at a discussion on the media role in addressing sexual harassment urged the press to do follow up reports on sexual harassment instead of publishing incident based news only, reports BSS.Media should give much more focus on checking domestic violence, preventing early marriage and curbing sexual harassment of all sorts, they stressed. The Protecting Human Rights (PHR) programme of Plan Bangladesh and Women Journalists� Network, Bangladesh (WJNB) organized the roundtable titled �Sexual Harassment, Gender-Based Violence and the Role of Media� at the Daily Star Centre here. At the discussion it was said that as per the 2011 data of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) 91 percent of 10 to 18 years of female are victims of any form of sexual harassment and 87 percent have experienced domestic violence. US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Eileen O�Connor and US Ambassador in Bangladesh Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat Gae made opening remarks while the Daily Star Editor Mahfuz Anam and Boishakhi Television Editor-in-Chief Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul delivered keynote remarks.
