Vendor killed in city road crash

A footwear vendor was killed as a human-hauler hit him near Babubazar Bridge in old part of the city yesterday, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Shanu, 30, son of late Ruppa Miah of Nasirnagar in Brahmanbaria district. Residing at a rented house in Kadamtali of Keraniganj, Shanu used to sell used shoes. Police said a leguna hit Shanu around 7:15 am while crossing the road in the area. A team of Kotwali Police Station, led by sub-inspector Shahidul Islam, took him to nearby Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital. Following the deterioration of his condition, the victim was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
