CHITTAGONG: A mobile court of Chittagong District Administration yesterday in a drive fined four pharmacies and seized huge quantities of expired food supplements and physicians' samples from city's Muradpur area.
Assistant Commissioner of Chittagong District Administration Mohammad Ruhul Amin led the mobile court in Mohammadpur Road area of Muradpur under Panchliash thana.
The court fined the owners of four drugstores Tk 32, 000 for selling unauthorised and date expired medicines, expired food supplements and physicians' samples.
The court also seized huge quantities of food supplements and physicians' samples worth about Tk 1.5 lakh during the drive.
The executive magistrate said the pharmacies were fined under Drug Act 1940. The court will continue its drive against food adulteration.
