Digital Innovation Fair begins

Speakers at an inaugural session of a 3 -day Digital Innovation Fair in Khulna yesterday said that the digitisation of both public and private services would lead the country to achieve double digit growth in the next few years. They emphasised the technological advancement in Bangladesh is increasing day by day and young generation can make it more rapid.
Discussants said the government has been working sincerely for reaching all services to the doorsteps of the people in a hassle-free manner. The common people have started getting digital services like e-governance, e-education, e- agriculture, e-health and other e-services at the union, upazila and district levels. The country must be built as digital Bangladesh to ensure its middle income status by 2021, they added.   
The speakers, however, called upon all the people to work hard to achieve the ‘Vision 2021’ saying that there were still miles to go to achieve that goal. They further called upon all for sensitising and bridging the people with the ICT to ensure their rights to information and getting services easily in the process of realising the ‘Vision 2021’ as envisioned by Prime Minister.
The speakers made the remarks while inaugurating a three-day Khulna Digital Innovation Fair-2016 at the premises of Khulna Collectorate Bhaban under Sadar police station in the city.
Khulna district administration with the help of Access-to-Information (A2I) of the Prime Minister office is arranging the fair aimed at materialising the dream of ‘Digital Bangladesh’ to enable the country meet global challenges and develop human resources.
State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chando addressed the function as chief guest and formally inaugurate the fair. Deputy Commissioner of Khulna, also convener of the fair organising committee Md Mostafa Kamal presided over the inaugural session.  
Administrator of Zila Parishad, Khulna Sheikh Harunur Rashid, director of A2I programme Mostafizur Rahman was present as special guests.
A total of 40 governments and private institutions from Khulna city and district attended the fair. The organisers said visitors would have entrance from 3am to 8pm in those days without paying the fees. The latest ICT products of local and foreign brands will be put on display.
Besides, quiz and debate competitions with participation of students will be held every morning and this followed by a seminar in the afternoon and cultural function in the evening every day. The fair will conclude on January 12
