Babita to be honounred with lifetime award

Internationally acclaimed National Film Award winning Bangladeshi actress Babita is going to be honounred with the lifetime achievement award at an event titled ‘The Daily Star-Standard Chartered Celebrating Life 2015’. The gala event has been scheduled to take place today at 5pm at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital. Besides, noted cinematographer Afzal H Chowdhury and celebrated musician Alauddin Ali will also be bestowed with the same award during today’s programme. Babita said about receiving the award, “I am grateful to the organisers for honouring me in an appropriate manner. They have also made a documentary on my life and works. Receiving a lifetime achievement award is always a matter of happiness to me.” Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will be present as chief guest at the award programme. Renowned signers Syed Abdul Hadi, Sabina Yasmin and band troupe Chitkutt will perform at the cultural segment of the event. To note, eminent actress Babita started her film career with the film ‘Sangsar’ directed by late noted filmmaker Zahir Raihan.
