Theatre troupe Natyakendra is going to stage its satirical comedy play ‘Dui Je Chhilo Ek Chakor’, which is the 12th production of the troupe, today at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the city. The play is adapted from Venetian playwright Carlo Goldoni’s 18th play ‘Servant of Two Masters’. Adapted and directed by Tarique Anam Khan, the play comes with the elements of greed, mischief, love, separation and twists, and fits very well into the present societal contexts. Loaded with humour, sarcasm and verbal and situational irony, the production gave a houseful of audiences a dose of humour and hit their conscience through articulating the vices of human beings. The play has been modified from the original text to incorporate some existing socio-political issues of Bangladesh. It has a total of eight characters- two pairs of lovers, their fathers and the servant. Natyakendra brought the comedy on stage two years ago, which became very popular within very short time for its powerful dramatisation. The probable cast of the play includes Yusuf Hasan, Sangeeta Chowdhury, Ariq Anam Khan, Luci Tripti Gomez, Habib Masud, Sharif Hossain Emon, Shantona and Saif Ahmed.
