A fire at Jamuna Eco Park yesterday destroyed trees, killed a few animals and burnt down some cottages in at least 500 meters of area. Rakibul Islam, officer-in-charge of Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge (West), two units of fire service with the help of police and local people extinguished the fire after an hour. Fire brigade officials suspected that the fire might have been originated from a burning cigarette thrown by a visitor. No details were immediately available. The Jamuna Eco Park is situated at Saidabad in Sirajganj districton the western side of Bangabandhu Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge.
