The bodies of two cousins who went missing while bathing in the Madhumati River in Mollahat upazila on Monday were fished out from the river yesterday afternoon, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Suraiya Akhter, 8, daughter of Saiful Sheikh of Udaypur village in Mollahat, and her cousin Rabeya Akhter, 11, daughter of Anisur Rahman of Paschim Bhuterdewa village in Babuganj upazila of Barisal. Locals said Suraiya and Rabeya were washed away by strong currents while taking their bath in the river at Udaypur village on Monday noon. Locals could not trace them immediately.
