Windies well prepared for U-19 WC, says Hetmyer

The West Indies Under-19 team doesn’t see any security threat in Bangladesh, an issue which Australia used to pull out of the tournament.
The Caribbean youths rather were worried about the preparation as they are looking to use most of the three-match series against the hosts Bangladesh.
“I don’t really think so. I think the guys are very secured here. I feel it’s very secured for us here,” said West Indies captain Shimron Hetmyer.
“But we have a kind of a short in preparations, I won’t really say short, we hadn’t have much as we could have. We are looking forward to see this series as much as possible and see how well we can play in Bangladesh because most of the guys here are for the first time.”
West Indies U-19 as the first overseas team arrived in Bangladesh just 19 days before the start of the upcoming World Cup. The Caribbean tourists will play a three-match 50-over series, which has been organised as a part of their preparation prior to the mega event though they will play two warm-up matches, scheduled by ICC, before going into the main campaign of the 16-nation tournament.
They came to hold their first practice session at National Cricket Academy yesterday. The touring captain before their training said that there is no vast gulf of difference between Bangladesh and West Indian conditions, which are spin friendly.
“This is not too much difference from the new because Islands possess for spin. Wickets are not bad for pace also. We’re just looking forward for that,” left-handed opener told the media.
The 19-year-old, who is one of the two players of the current West Indies squad who played for the past edition in UAE, said that they are well prepared for the World Cup.
“Our preparation for the World Cup is quite fine. Our guys are quite well and much confident of playing in the condition of Bangladesh,” the top-order batsman claimed.
When asked to play in CPL, Shimron said “I was in a team of Guyana Amazon Warriors in CPL but I don’t play any game.”
“Yes I do. I think we need to cope with the condition to get the wickets,” he told in response to a query.   
Sri Lanka will be the second team who will arrive in Bangladesh on January 15 while the other teams will land here within January 20.
