Bangladesh Online Activists Forum (BOAF) yesterday said the rule of law has now been established in Bangladesh through the execution of the killers of Kazi Aref Ahmed, a leader of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), reports BSS.
In a statement, BOAF president Kabir Chowdhury said, “Bangladesh is now free from the culture of impunity as the government ensured the trials of several sensational matters including Bangabandhu murder case, trial of war criminals and anti-humanitarian offenses committed in 1971, Colonel Taher murder case and Kazi Aref Ahmed murder case.”
JSD leader Aref Ahmed, also one of the organizers of liberation war, was killed along with four leaders at Kalidaspur in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia on February 16, 1999.
Three convicted killers of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal leader Kazi Aref Ahmed were executed last night.
