Construction works of the office building of Rangpur Regional Station of Bangladesh Institute of Research and Training on Applied Nutrition (BIRTAN) is goign on in Pirganj upazila town in the district, report BSS.
The Local Government and Engineering Department (LGED) has been implementing constriction works of the office building at about Tk 3 crore on five acre land near Pirganj Fire Service Station by the side of the Rangpur-Dhaka Highway.
Private sector construction organisation Messers Joy and Md Zahidul Islam began casting of basements of the BIRTAN office building at a ceremony arranged on the construction site on Thursday.
Earlier, Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury MP formally inaugurated construction works of the BIRTAN office building at a ceremony on November 6 last along with other development projects in Pirganj upazila.
Proprietor Zahidul Islam of Messers Joy and Md Zahidul Islam said that construction works of the office building of BIRTAN will be completed timely ensuring best quality.
Pirganj Upazila Engineer of the LGED Majibar Rahman said constriction works of the office building will be completed within the scheduled period by April 20, 2017 next.
