At least 12 cloth stores were gutted as a fire that broke out at Mirpur Jhut Patti at Block C in the capital’s Pallabi area on Thursday night, reports UNB. Officer-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station Badal Fakir said the fire originated from a cloth store in the area around 12pm and soon engulfed 8 to 10 adjoining shops. On information, 12 firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 12:55pm, according to officials at the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room. No one was reportedly injured in the incident. The origin of the fire as well as the losses caused by the fire could not be ascertained immediately.
