Shilpakala to present puppet show today

With an initiative by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), the Theatre and Film Department of BSA has arranged a puppet theatre show today at 6:30pm at the Studio Theatre Hall of BSA, Segun Bagicha in the city.
Planned and executed by Dr. Rashid Harun and presented by Bangladesh Putul Natya Gabeshana O Unnayan Kendra, Drama and Dramatics Department of Jahangirnagar University (JU), the opening show of the traditional puppet theatre will be brought to stage today.
Cultural Affairs Secretary Aktari Momtaz will be present as chief guest at the programme. Presided over by BSA director general Liaquat Ali Lucky, the event will be inaugurated by Bangla Academy director general Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan. Director of BSAs Drama and Film Department Sara Ara Mahmud and Professor Dr. Rashid Harun from Drama and Dramatics Department of JU will deliver speeches at the programme.
After the inauguration and discussion programme, the shows of puppet theatre Kupokat written by Munier Chowdhury, Tuntuni O Nak kata Raja written by Jasim Uddin and Upendra Kishore Roy, and Janaiko Gorur Sakkhatkar inspired by Ros+Alo will be staged.
