The government has appointed new Ambassadors to Ethiopia and Morocco.
Md Monirul Islam, currently serving as the Ambassador to Morocco, has been made Bangladesh’s first ever
envoy to Ethiopia, said a foreign ministry press release yesterday.
Career diplomat Islam, who belongs to the 10th batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre, had earlier served as a Consul General in New York. He had also served in Bangladesh missions in Madrid, Beijing, Singapore and Ottawa in different capacities.
Meanwhile, Sultana Laila Hossain, the Consul General in Bangladesh Consulate General in Los Angeles, has been appointed as the next Ambassador to Morocco, said another release. She will replace Ambassador Md Monirul Islam.
Sultana Laila Hossain, also a career diplomat, belongs to 11th batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre and had earlier served in Bangladesh missions in New Delhi and Yangon in different capacities.
