Benapole: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 18 Bangladeshi nationals while they were attempting to cross into India illegally through Putkhali border point here on Wednesday, reports UNB.
The arrestees hail from different areas of Jessore, Barisal and Narail districts.
Golam Ahmed, Subeder of Putkhali camp of Khulna BGB Battalion-21, said on secret information, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area at night and arrested the 18 Bangladeshi nationals, including five women, who were trying to go to India without valid documents.
Later, BGB troops handed them over to Benapole Port Police Station. A case was filed in this connection.
