Once-popular film actor Amit Hasan, who has regularly been seen playing negative roles in the current film scene, is going to play the role of a transgender for the first time in his career. Directed by Akash Acharya, Amit Hasan will play the title role in the film ‘Maya’.

Amit Hasan said about his role and the film, “I am playing the role of a transgender in this film. Though I enacted the role of the woman earlier to meet the demand of the film’s story, this time I will appear in the character of a transgender person for the first time. This community have their due honour, they also want to live a life that all other human beings live. They have also pain, grief, sufferings, and struggle. The film will bring all these important facts centring the life of transgender people on the screen.’
DhakaLive has news about the film that its shooting is now underway at a shooting house in the capital. Popular actor Simon Sadik will be seen playing as the main hero in the film and model-actress Airin will play opposite him. Among others, Shiba and Shanu will share the screen with the lead casts in the film.
Produced by SP Pictures, the shooting of the film is expected to complete in March this year.
