�Mohajoner Nao� in Tripura theatre fest this time

Subachan Natya Shangshad, one of the popular theatre troupes in Bangladesh, is going to stage two shows of their much-acclaimed play Mohajoner Nao on January 10 and 11 in Kamalpur and Agartala of Tripura, India respectively.
The first of show Mohajoner Nao will be staged during the closing day of a theatre festival tilted Bimal Singh International Memorial Festival, organised by Durbar theatre troupe, in Kamalpur. On the other hand, next show will be staged in Agartala on January 11.
The story, based on the life and philosophy of the late Baul Samrat Shah Abdul Karim, is written by Shakoor Majid and directed as well as choreographed by Sudip Chakroborty. The Baul Samrat showed signs of his musical talents from a young age, and though his schooling was not extensive, he went on to become one of the most acclaimed folk musicians of his time, who wrote and composed over 1600 songs. Six books have been published by the Bangla Academy till the date of his songs, and ten of his songs have also been translated into English and published as a separate compilation by the Academy
Ahmad Gias, the main editor of Subachan, said about the upcoming shows in India, The play Mohajoner Nao was staged earlier in a number of places in India including Silchar in Assam, Belonia in Tripura, Cooch Behar, Madhyamgram in Kolkala, Rabindra Sadan and Academy of Fine Arts.
Subachan Natya Shangshad is going to Tripura with a 22-member team on January 9 to stage the play.
