Cattle lifter lynched in Rangpur

RANGPUR: A cattle lifter was killed in a mass beating at Nilokchondi Paschimpara village in Gangachara upazila yesterday morning, reports BSS.
Officer-in-Charge of Gangachara police Zinnat Ali said a gang of cattle lifters entered a house of the village at around 5 am and lifted a cow from there. Hearing cry for help, neighbours rushed to the spot and caught three of the cow lifters and beat them up, leaving them injured. Being informed, police rushed to the spot and sent them to the Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) where attending doctor declared Abdus Salam, hailing from Sadullapur upazila in Gaibandha district, dead.
Two other injured Moshiar Rahman, of Kishoreganj upazila in Nilphamari district and Abdul Malek, of Gangachara upazila have been undergoing treatment at the RMCH.
