A man was killed and two others were injured seriously in a cylinder explosion at a filling station at Masterbari area in Bhaluka upaz ila of the district yesterday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Kubbat Hossain, 50, an employee of Purbasha Filling Station at Masterbari.
Officer-in-Charge of Bhaluka Police Station Mamun-or-Rashid said a cylinder of the filling station exploded at around 3.30 pm, leaving Kubbat dead on the spot and covered van driver Suruj Ali, 30, and helper Azhar Miah, 26, injured. The injured were admitted at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) with severe burn injuries.
On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to MMCH morgue for autopsy.
