Bangladesh Bank (BB) officials yesterday warned of a mass leave programme from Jan 15 unless the ‘discrepancies’ in the new pay scale are removed.
Bangladesh Bank Officers Welfare Council announced the programme at a rally in front of the BB in the capital.
Central bank officials present at the programme said they would go on mass leave from January 15 unless the posts of executive director and assistant director are upgraded to Grade-1 and Grade-8 respectively.
Besides, the agitated BB officials announced protest rally and sit-in programme from January 7.
The protesters alleged that they had been subjected to discrimination in the new pay scale and that the protest will continue until their ‘rightful’ demands are met.
