Killing of minor boy protested

The villagers of a Kaliganj upazila in Jhenidah district formed a human chain wearing black badges and demonstrated at Kaliganj main bus stand yesterday morning as police failed to nab the killers of Saurav Das.
They also submitted memorandum to the upazila nirbahi officer in Kaliganj in this connection.
Five year old Saurav Das, son of Balai Das of Roygram village in Kaliganj uapzila was found slaughtered on the roof of a newly construction building at Khoddorai village in Kaliganj upazila of the district  on December 27.
The criminals slaughtered him for an unknown reason, the demonstrators said. The speakers demanded exemplary punishment to the killers. UNO of Kaliganj Manwar Hossain Mollah received the memorandum and assured of legal steps against the killers. Mention may be made here that the police could not arrest any one of the killers in last 11 days of killing the boy. Officer in-charge of Kaliganj police station Anwar Hossain said police has been conducting drive against the killers, they are hopeful arresting the killers at an early date.
