Biman staff arrested over gold smuggling

Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police yesterday arrested a staff of Bangladesh Biman in connection with gold smuggling in the capital.
The arrested was identified Abdus Sattar, a technician of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
Talking to The Independent, DB Senior Assistant Commissioner Dr Monzur Morshed said, Getting secret information, a team of DB raided Uttara area in the early morning and arrested Sattar.
He was arrested in connection with 16 kilograms gold smuggling at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital recently.
Four people were arrested who were identified as Osman Harun alias Shohel, Anwar Parvez alias Robin, Anowara Begum Alias Nazma and Nahida Farzana alias Moni, A case was filed in the Airport Police Station in this connection and later the case was shifted to the DB for investigation.
During the investigation, we found the evidence of Sattar in the gold smuggling and this is why we arrested him, said the AC. He was brought to the court seeking ten days remand.
