Three employees of Premier Cement Company were injured, including one bullet-hit, as muggers attacked them while they were riding a car and looted Tk 28,47,000 from them on the Dhaka-Narayanganj-Munshiganj road in Kashipur Deweanbari area of the district yesterday, reports UNB.
The victims said they were returning to the company’s office at Muktarpur in Munshiganj district by a company car after drawing Tk 28,47,000 from Fatullah branch of Social Islami Bank in Narayanganj at noon.
When the car was passing Kashipur Dewanbari area on Dhaka-Narayanganj-Munshiganj road, a group of 5-6 armedmuggers, riding on two motorcycles, tried to intercept the vehicle.
As the car’s driver Razzab Ali, 48, tried to escape the interception, the muggers fired at him, leaving him bullet-injured.
Later, they stabbed two company staff – security guard Abul Bashar, 45, and account officer Ramizuddin, 40 –, snatched a bag from the car where the money was kept and hurriedly left the scene.
The three injured were admitted to Khanpur 300-bed Hospital in Narayanganj city. Police is conducting a drive to identify the muggers and recover the snatched money, said Fatullah police OC, who visited the spot.
