Schoolboy �murdered� in Ctg; 1 held

A schoolboy was hacked to death allegedly by his neighbour at his resident at Didar Colony of Gulshan Residential area of the city yesterday. The victim was Azim Hossain, 12, a student of class V of Sher Shah Primary School.
Mohammad Mohsin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bayezid police station, said Azad Hossain, father of the victim, is a vegetable trader by profession and mother is a garments worker. They left home for their work place in the morning.  The official said Azim was supposed to go to school with new books yesterday, the first day of his new class. Azim’s elder brother had seen him getting ready for school before he left home around 10am, the OC said. Azim’s father returned home around 11am and found Azim’s throat slit body was lying in the pool of blood on their bed, the added OC. On information police recovered the body and sent it to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy, the official said. Police arrested a neighbour of the victim Rony Akhter, 20, hailing from Fatickchhari of Chittagong, in this connection.  During primary interrogation, the arrestee informed the police that she was caught stealing a mobile phone from Azim’s home few days ago. She killed the boy to take revenge, the OC added.
