Popular Nazrul Sangeet singer Yasmin Mustari will perform today at a musical programme titled ‘Shiter Howay Laglo Nachon’, organised by cultural organisation ‘Amra Surjamukhi’, at Sufia Kamal auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in the capital Shahbag area. Professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam, Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh Masud Ahmed, noted singer Sadya Afreen Mallick, Saheen Samad, noted lyricist Shahidullah Farazi and cultural activist Alamgir Kabir will attend the programme as discussants, while former Culture Secretary Dr Ranjit Biswas will recite some writings of Kazi Nazrul Islam. Yasmin Mustari is familiar to the music scene as a Nazrul singer, but she also rendered modern and folk songs in her music career. Her first modern songs based album is ‘Sedin-er Ek Bikeley,’ whose music direction was done by by Ibrar Tipu, and later released an album based on modern songs under the direction of Shantonu. Yasmin Mustari’s debut solo Nazrul Sangeet album is ‘Ami Chand Nohi’. Her last released album is ‘Ranga Otithi’.
