The residents of the areas have been suffering from a serious shortage of gas for many days. Local people also besieged the office of Bakhrabad Gas Company Ltd office yesterday and submitted memorandum in this regard. Apart from hampering household activities, the ongoing gas crisis is also affecting businesses. Many of the consumers, finding no alternative, have already bought stoves to cook food. People, who do not have ability, are cooking food by using firewood.

Mukta Akther , another housewife, said Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Ltd has failed to supply gas supply to consumers during peak hour. Fakruddin, a ward commissioner, alleged that the consumers get little gas at around 11pm, but it does not help much.
