Man hurt in AL infighting dies
Magura: A sexagenarian, who sustained injuries in a clash between two factions of Awami-League in Gangnipatokhali village in Sadar upazila 10 days ago, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Najir Biswas, 65, a resident of the same village. Ajmal Huda, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said there had been a longstanding dispute between the followers of AL leaders Abdur Rahman and Jahid Hasan over establishing supremacy at the village. As sequel to the previous enmity, the two sides, both equipped with lethal weapons, attacked each other at the village on December 23, leaving Najir critically injured.
Later, the injured were admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital. As his condition was critical, he was referred to DMCH, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday noon.
Smuggled goods siezed
Chuadanga: Customs intelligence officials seized
smuggled goods including Sharee, three-piece, Shal Chador worth Tk 10 lakh from Dhaka-bound train ‘Maitree Express’ from India at Dhorsona internatinal railway station on Sunday, reports UNB.

Customs intelligence officials seized smuggled goods including Sharee, three-piece, Shal Chador worth of Tk 10lakh searching the ‘Maitree Express’ when it reached at Dhorsona railway station from India  at noon.
Fire victims get 30 bundles of tin

Some 30 bundles of tin were distributed among 15 fire affected families in Debiganj upazila yesyerday.
Project Implementation Officer Md Rokkunuzzaman distributed the tins, allocated by Debiganj upazila relief office. Each family has received two bundles of tin.
PIO office sources said houses of 15 families were gutted in a devastating fire in October, 2015.    
Body recovered in Habiganj
Police recovered the body of an unidentified youth from Putijuri-Sheuratuli area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway under Bahubal upazila of the district yesterday morning, reports BSS.
Being informed, a team of police from Bahubal Thana rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Habiganj sadar Hospital morgue, said Mosarrof Hossain, officer-in-charge of the Thana.
Several injury marks were found in his body, he added.
