The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 yesterday deferred the arguments in the case of crimes against humanity against Netrakona Razakar duo Obaidul Haque Taher and Ataur Rahman Noni till today, reports BSS. Yesterday was fixed for placing the arguments by the prosecution in the case. But the prosecution filed a time petition. Accepting the plea, Justice Anwarul Haque, chairman of three-member panel of the ICT-1, deferred the date. A total of 23 witnesses submitted their depositions against the duo, but none vouched for the accused before the court. The ICT-1 on March 2, 2015, indicted the duo, framing six specific charges against them. The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 yesterday set February 23 for submitting progress or final report on probe into the alleged crimes committed by Mymensingh Razakars Riajuddin Fakir and Wajiuddin. The tribunal set the date accepting a time plea from prosecutor Hrishikesh Saha. Amjad Ali, another accused in the case, died in hospital on September 4, 2015. He got seriously injured as the prison van carrying him along with Riajuddin, collided head-on with a bus in Rajendrapur area in front of National Park of Gazipur city on August 12. The investigation agency already interrogated Riajuddin at their Dhanmandi safe house. Wajiuddin, however, is still at large.
