Share transaction at both Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges rose on yesterday though most of the securities closed lower due to higher selling, reports BSS.
The daily trade value at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) increased to Taka 439.89 crore and the volume to 10.64 crore shares from Sunday's Taka 366.42 crore for 9.60 crore shares. Out of the day's 317 issues traded, 114 closed higher, 153 lower and 50 static.
Due to the price fall in majority of the traded issues, the DSEX closed flat in red yesterday at 4617.73 when the blue-chip DS30 followed it to end lower at 1756.56. The Shariah DSES managed to finish marginally higher at 1112.49.
Miracle Industries, Aamra Tech, Agni System, BD Finance and GBB Power were the day's top gainers when the major losing scrips were WM Shipyard, Asia Pacific Insurance, Exim 1st MF, 7th ICB and 5th ICB.
Beximco topped the turnover list followed by SA Port, UPGDCL, Beximco Pharma and Summit Power.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed yesterday mixed, with CSCX closing marginally up at 8586.99.
A total of 87.96 lakh shares worth Taka 29.95 crore traded yesterday were higher from Sunday's 68.40 lakh shares worth Taka 23.11 crore. Out of the day's 222 traded issues, 96 ended higher and 95 lower while 31 remained static.
