Call to ensure equal privileges to dropout children

Speakers at a ceremony here yesterday underscored the need for ensuring equal privileges to the dropout children for flourishing their latent talents, reports BSS.
They viewed that many children become dropout from schools every year due to various reasons and called for bringing them back to institutional learning so they can avail the scopes of education like others.
They were addressing the prize-giving ceremony of the Rajshahi divisional level cultural, literary and fine arts competitions -Tarai Tarai Deepshikha.
Brac Education Programme organized the programme for the students of BRAC schools, ESP Schools, Kishori Clubs and Mass Education Centers at Brac Learning Center in Rajshahi.
Commissioner of Rajshahi division Helaluddin Ahmed and Deputy Commissioner Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury addressed the ceremony as the chief and special guests respectively with BRAC District Representative Jahedul Islam in the chair.
Assistant Director of Department of Primary Education Abul Kalam Azad, Brac Senior Manager Dr Bishwajit Roy Chowdhury, Senior Regional Managers Md Ferdous and Rehan Uddin also spoke on the occasion.
Some 240 children including aboriginal, disabled and harijon from all eight districts under the division took part in the competition.
Chief Guest Helaluddin said today's children are the future generation so they should be built as competent citizens enriched with moral and social values.
He said many children become trackless due to lack of proper education and learning based on principle and discipline and ultimately become burden of the society.
So, every child should be taught religious and moral values in their childhood, so that they can contribute to the nation's betterment in the days to come, he added.
