Focus on newsworthy incidents: Inu

Terming the media the mirror of society, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu yesterday urged journalists to file reports on those incidents which have the news value, reports UNB.  “Many incidents happen around us every day, but all of them are not news worthy. So, the media professionals should differentiate between news and which is not news,” he said. Inu, also president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, was addressing the second founding anniversary of online news portal ‘The Report24.com’ at its office in the capital. The Information Minister said the online media outlets have added a new dimension to the country’s media industry. The government always welcomes online news media, he said adding that it will formulate a policy for the online media houses so that they can carry on their activities properly. The Report24.com editor Touhidul Islam Mintu and chairman of United Media Ltd Kazi Fariduddin Ahmed, among others spoke at the programme.
