Police in a drive arrested five suspected leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh from a house in the capital’s Banashri Residential Area yesterday, reports UNB.
Police also seized Tk 1.47 crore from their possession.
The arrestees were identified as Gias Uddin, 55, Aminur Rahman, 57, Abul Hasem, 32, Osman Gani, 41 and Shahadatur Rahman Sohel, 43.
Sub-inspector of Rampura Police Station Abu Bakr said, acting on a tip off, a special team of Rampura Police Station conducted a drive at a house at B block of Banashri residential area in the capital in the evening and arrested the five Jamaat men from the house.
