�Bangladesh Sangskritik Utsab 2016� begins

Organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), an 18-day event titled Bangladesh Sangskritik Utsab 2016 (Bangladesh Cultural Festival 2016) has begun on Friday at Nandan Mancha of BSA, Segun Bagicha in the city. The festival has been organised with an aim to present an eventful programme featuring music, dance, recitation, acting and many more through the performance of the child and adult artistes of all 64 District Shilpakala Academy.
Cultural Minister Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the festival as chief guest at Nandan Mancha on Friday afternoon. Presided over by BSA director general Liaquat Ali Lucky, noted writer Syed Shamsul Haque was present as special guest at the opening ceremony.
Besides, academy secretary Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury delivered the welcome speech and director of Music, Dance and Recitation Department Sohrab Uddin conveyed thanks to the invited guests and audiences.
The first day of the festival included the national anthem by hundred of artistes, presenting uttorio and crest to the guests, releasing balloons, lighting candles by all 64 District Shilpakala Academy, fountain music and fireworks.
During the second part of the first day event, the opening song of the festival was presented by Bangladesh Fine Arts and directed by Farhana Baby Chowdhury. Moreover, various District Shilpakala Academies from Joypurhat, Sylhet, Gopalganj and Mymensingh performed during the cultural segment of the event.
The festival will continue till January 18. l
