7 �cattle lifters� injured by mob in Chuadanga

Seven suspected cattle lifters were injured in a lynch-mob attack at Jamjami village in Alamdanga upazila early yesterday, reports UNB. The injured were identified as Intajul,25, Khaksar Mandal,55, Abul Kalam, 45, Saheb Ali,45, Gaffar Ali, 30, Shamim,35, and Milon,38. Sheikh Atier Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said a group of cattle lifters stole two cows from Bhodua village and picked up them into a truck in Jamunar Math area around 4:30am. Sensing the presence of the cow lifters, local people chased them. Later, they managed to catch seven of the cattle lifters after a hot chase and gave them a good thrashing, leaving all of them injured.
On information, police rescued the victims and rushed them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital. Meanwhile, six of the injured were admitted to a local heath complex while the other taken to the police station, said OC.
