Bangladesh will host the 12th edition of the SAFF Championship to take place in Dhaka in December 2017. It was decided in a meeting of South Asian Football Federation in Kerala, India on Friday.
The SAFF Club Cup championship will be held in December this year but the host is yet to be finalized, though Bangladesh was the first choice in a preliminary discussion, as the final decision will be taken later on.
Meanwhile, Maldives also bid to host the next SAFF Championship but considering the infrastructure and the experienced, Bangladesh was considered as the first choice.
It’d be the third time that Bangladesh will host the SAFF. They hosted it for first time in 2003 and also won the trophy.
