Ex-Khulna Mayor Tayebur Rahman passes away

Former Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Mayor Advocate Sheikh Tayebur Rahman passed away at a private hospital in the city on Friday) night at around 11pm. He was 79. He served Khulna people as KCC mayor for 17 years. He was former secretary of BNP’s central committee of Forest and Environment Affairs, former ambassador and former minister (in-charge) for Khulna district. He left behind wife, a son and three daughters and a host of grandchildren as well as well-wishers, friends and relatives to mourn of his death. His first Namaz-e-janaza was held at Shaheed Hadis Park ground in the city at 11 am yesterday, family sources said.
