Maasranga Television got off to a winning start when they beat New Age by 58 runs in the curtain raiser of the Pran Frooto-BSJA Media Cup Cricket at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium yesterday.

In the other matches, Dhaka Tribune routed Sokaler Khabor by four wickets, Gazi TV whacked past bdnews24.com by 22 runs, Daily Star defeated Daily Nayadiganta by 13 runs, Daily Samakal pounded Daily Jugantor by 77 runs, Channel-i overwhelmed Daily Banik Barta by 26 runs, while Daily Kaler Kantho trounced The Independent by 18 runs and Radio Today thumped Jago News by three wickets.
Anisur Rahman, chief operating officer of Pran Beverage and Atiqur Rahman, head of marketing of the sponsor company along with BSJA general secretary Raihan Al Mughni, finance secretary Anisur Rahman and tournament committee chairman Ariful Rahman Babu were also present.
The Independent will face-off Independent Television in their second and last group match at the same venue today at 12:30pm.
