To address the upcoming difficulties and challenges, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has chalked out some development plan for their age-level cricket alongside the senior cricket teams.
The BCB inked a long-term deal with Board of Control for Cricket of India (BCCI) so that they could arrange home and away tours for the development of the age-level cricket teams including U-15 and U-18.
As a part of the agreement, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Under-15 Cricket Team is going to make a tour in India to play a string of games against Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) on January 20.
The visiting team will play four 3-dayers coupled with lone one day match against CAB at different venues across the West Bengal.
Dipu Roy Chowdhury, head coach of BCB U-15, admitted the matter of the tour and said that the board has penned a long-term deal with CAB to develop the grass-root level cricket.
They are going to travel Kolkata as a part of agreement.
“We’ve now a 24-member preliminary squad of Bangladesh U-15, who has been practicing at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan (BKSP) since last three weeks. They are scheduled to return in Dhaka on Sunday after being ended their three-week-long first phase,” said BCB U-15 head coach Dipu Roy Chowdhury.
“We’ll play a 2-dayer practice match at the City Club ground in the capital to be held on January 4-5. Thereafter, they will play another
practice match towards January 11-12.
And then, the 24-member squad will be trimmed to 18,” Chowdhury told The Independent.
“We’ll play a 2-day practice match before going to fly for Kolkata. Selectors will select the final squad after seeing the match.
The final squad will be a 15-member,”
he added.
