�Abducted� girl rescued in Savar; 1 held

Savar: Police in a drive rescued a young girl, who had been reportedly abducted by a young man on December 25, from a house at Majidpur in Hemayetpur early yesterday, reports UNB. Police said  Saidur Rahman, a young man in the area, picked up the  girl forcibly and took her to a house in Majidpur area on December 25. Later he violated the girl keeping her confined there. Following complaint of the victim’s family, police conducted a drive in the area and rescued the girl in critical condition in the dead of night. Police also arrested Saidur for his alleged involvement in the abduction. Later, the girl was sent to the one stop crisis centre of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for medical test. A case was filed with Savar Model Police Station.
