14 shops gutted in Gazipur fire

At least 14 shops of Jamalpur Notun Bazar in Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur distict were gutted in a devastating fire early yesterday.
Chairman of Jamalpur Union council Md Khairul Alam said a security guard of the bazaar informed him about the fire incident at around 2 am yesterday. He went to the spot and informed the police about the fire.
Fire exchanging units from Kaliganj and Polash fire stations reached the spot and doused the flames after one hour frantic efforts.
